We are thrilled that all 9 of Pistachio’s litter are thriving and a few are available for whole or half share reservations!
Our pigs are Idaho Pasture Pigs, which is a combination of your traditional Berkshire and Duroc hogs with a dash of Kune Kune thrown in. In our experience adding the Kune Kune not only enables this breed to be more efficient grazers but adds just the right amount of (absolutely delicious!) fat to each cut.
Share butcher dates are October 16th and 30th at Siebert's Meats in Goldendale. We deliver the pigs to Siebert’s, they coordinate with you what cuts you would like and then two weeks later(ish) your cuts are ready to be picked up from them. We sell you the live animal. Slaughter, cut/wrap is handled by and paid directly to Siebert’s. Slaughter is $100 and cut/wrap is $1/lb. See link for more details.
Our shares are $7/lb hanging weight.
Average hanging weight last round was 183 lbs and typical net is 70% of that weight in meat.
That means for a whole share you would owe us approximately $1,283 for roughly 128lbs of meat or $640 and 64lbs of meat with a half share.
All in cost to fill your freezer (hog plus standard processing) will be roughly $1,509 for a whole and $754.50 for a half. $11.79 per pound for beautifully marbled meat packed with omegas from happy healthy hogs!
Reservations are first come first serve and require a $200 deposit which is applied to the final balance.
